Qualified First Aider required

Bryan Scarborough emailed with the following message regarding first aid assistance at the upcoming Brickhills Challenge:

"Qualified First Aider required for about 4 hours on the morning of Sunday 21 February to be on hand at the
Brickhills Challenge to take care of any minor injuries which may ossur. More serious accidents will be dealt with
at MK Hospital. All expenses will be covered."

2010 NBRC Road Racing Calendar

Gordon has sent in the 2010 calendar of road racing events - see the NBRC Menu to the right for link.  The club is organising

LVRC and BC events at the MK Bowl on Saturday 24th April - The North Bucks R.C. Spring Circuits

LVRC events at Towcester on Sunday 29th August - The Andy Hardy Memorial Road Race

There are also regular Tuesday evening LVRC events in May, June, July and August, and regular Thursday evening British Cycling events from 22nd April to the end of August.  These events may be entered on the line.

Membership Renewals

Members are reminded that NBRC membership renewals are now due.  Membership forms can be found at the "Join Us" link on the Main Menu to the left.

Membership forms are available in Microsoft Word, Open Document Format and PDF.  Completed forms should be submitted to Russell Page with the appropriate membership fee - contact details can be found on the forms.

The same membership form is used for renewals and new membership applications.

 

2010 Brickhills Challenge - updated

The 2010 North Bucks Road Club reliability ride, a.k.a. The Brickhills Challenge, will be held on Sunday 21st February 2010.

Location: Harley Hall at the junction of V10 Brickhill Street H9 Groveway  (close to the Open Universty in Milton Keynes).  There's a map here.

Event Date: 21st Feb 2010

Start:  09.00 am

Summary: This event is the 3rd edition of which has proved very popular for local riders seeking confirmation of early season fitness.

Distance is just over 50 mils and has 3575ft approx of climbing. There are 18 climbs, 4 over 15 %.

The course is on the southern flank of Milton Keynes and is based around the Brickhills.

We have tried to include every climb in the Brickhills. This means that the course is very compact and that you are never more than 10 miles from HQ.

The Route passes the famous Woburn International Golf course, Woburn Abbey and the Beautiful villages of Aspley Guise, Woburn Sands, Woburn, Bow Brickhill, Great Brickhill, Little Brickhill, Drayton Parslow and Stoke Hammond.

The Route is signed and will be timed by Race Timing Systems.

The Open University have approved the use of their car park on the day.  This is situated near the NBRC club room, Harley Hall.  See the Google Map here

Cost               £5.00 plus £1.00 booking fee (includes refreshments at finish)

First event of 2010! New Year's Day '10'

Blow off the winter cobwebs and come and ride the North Bucks Road Club New Year's Day '10'!

This event is to be held on the F5d/10, based on the new Stoke Hammond bypass.  Meet at the clubroom, and remember to allow sufficient time to get to the start.  Please review the course description and risk assessment.

You are advised to take particular care at the start and finish, due to the proximity to the Brickhill roundabout.  Please make sure you read the risk assessment before riding this course.  Riders must not stop & circulate around the Finish.

This event starts at 10am, and as usual, entry is £1.50 (members) or £2 (non-members)
